My Processes
See what my art is all about and the beginning of my hand building process.
I collect lace, doilies, and all kinds of bits of treasure for pressing texture into clay for my pieces.
I create the line images on my pottery from hand drawn designs screen printed onto clay.
I often create a collage from the screen print images, creating one-of-a-kind pieces of art.
I paint with underglaze to create a watercolor effect on my pottery.
Here I’m doing the final glazing on a platter we use for everyday celebrations at our house.

I collect lace, doilies, and all kinds of bits of treasure for pressing texture into clay for my pieces. The possibilities are endless and the results are surprising and so satisfying.
I create the line images on my pottery by first hand drawing the image, then creating a screen-print stencil from which I print the image and fix on the clay to later paint with underglaze.
Here I’m making a collage from the screen printed image on rice paper. Each art piece is unique and one-of-a-kind made with joy, creativity and attention to detail.
I think this is one of my favorite parts of creating my art, painting on the underglaze. I love the way the color lays down on the surface of the bisque-fired dish, and the way the glaze layers up on the piece. It never gets old for me.
Here I’m glazing a platter that we use for everyday celebrations at our house. There's something wonderful about using handmade pieces at our dinner table. It makes it feel so special.
